Argo Tours & Co. creates small, thoughtfully curated Chicago experiences rooted in history, food, and neighborhood culture — with a special focus on the Greek communities that helped shape the city.
We don’t do rushed tourist stops or generic walking routes. Our tours are designed for people who want context, stories, and real places — from classic tavernas and modern kitchens to cafés, streets, and neighborhoods tied to Chicago’s immigrant past.
Each experience blends food, drink, conversation, and history in a way that feels social, relaxed, and intentional — more like being shown around by someone who knows the city than being “guided.”

Chicago's Greek History & Dining Experience
This experience explores the deep and often overlooked history of Greeks in Chicago, told through food, wine, and neighborhood stories.
We trace Greek presence from early ship captains and merchants who traveled up the Mississippi and into Chicago, through the rise of Greektown, the invention of saganaki as we know it today, and the role Greek families played in Fulton Market from the 1940s through its modern transformation. Along the way, we connect Chicago’s Greek story to the wider Greek world — from todays Mainland Greece to Asia Minor and Anatolia to the Black Sea and the Eastern Mediterranean.
Guests will experience classic and regional Greek dishes, including flavors rooted in Asia Minor cuisine. We’ll also taste a historic Greek wine made in continuous tradition since antiquity, and a Greek beer originally developed during the formation of the modern Greek state under King Otto — tying food and drink directly to history, migration, and identity.
This tour is designed for those who want more than a meal: it’s a layered look at how Greek culture shaped Chicago and how Chicago shaped Greek-American life.

Chicago Greek Coffee & Brunch Experience
This brunch-focused experience highlights the modern chapter of Greek culture in Chicago, shaped by both local Greeks and recent waves of Greek migration following Greece’s economic crisis.
These newer arrivals brought with them contemporary Greek coffee culture — especially the freddo espresso and freddo cappuccino. The freddo cappuccino, in particular, has had a major influence on global coffee trends and helped inspire the cold foam toppers now common in major coffee chains across the U.S. like Starbucks.
This experience blends brunch, coffee, and culture, showing how modern Greek creativity continues to influence Chicago’s food and drink scene today.
